Moss Garden - Embroidered Terrarium Brooch by nekojizou suggester says "It's so creative. This person used a recycled milk cap to make this brooch, did it so well you could never tell what it was, and also put so much skill and detail into the rest of the piece that to me, it's just amazing."

Description

I feel strange not uploading some of my more handcrafted things here!  It's a bit delayed but here it is.  I guess this type of work is more similar to what I did in college.

The container of the "garden" is a plastic cap from a milk jug that's been cleaned and painted.  The "moss" and "lichens" are polyester embroidery floss, along with some glass beads.  The pebbles are vintage lucite beads from an old necklace.  Everything is sewn onto two layers of white flannel for a fuzzy look.  The whole thing measures roughly 1.5 inches.

I ended up not liking the gold paint I used for these, so I put them on discount on my etsy shop. There is a smaller necklace that I made earlier too.  The gold paint just isn't as durable as I like it to be.  (hoping to get rid of them soon so I can start over!) They went from my usual $23 down to $12, but if you want offer a different price just let me know and we can talk about adjusting it.

Ooo this is so good! I clicked because i thought someone had taken real moss and placed on a small plate like that! Surprised to see it is manmade; good work! The composition is great.
