Nekomata Worry Stones by nekojizou Nekomata Worry Stones by nekojizou
Some prototypes for kitty worry-stone/pocket buddies for my etsy shop! --> [link] I have some plain worry stones on there already but they will be unavailable till about the second week of January because of my holiday vacation, sorry! I promise they will be up again soon.

I wanted to experiment with how to paint these worry stone/pocket charms before they went up in the shop, so I tried it out on these prototypes with the colors of the bakeneko family. They are all around the size of an inch and about 2/3 to 1/2 inches thick. Each has a split tail and are made with paper clay. They fit really nicely in your hand if you like to keep something in your pocket to ease anxiety, and the shape is supposed to sort of comfort you as well with the animal shapes.

Nekomata tend to have a negative image in a lot of Japanese stories... but there are also some local stories about pet cats that turn into nekomata and repay the kindness from their human owners and protect them. It's all about your point of view, and if you yourself are a kind and generous person in the end. :D

Half of them have glossy finishes and the other half have matte finishes. (part of the experimentation) Please let me know what you think!

Bakeneko family belongs to :iconmelancholytsuki: and :iconincubusgrave:

Hahaha I was hoping you'd like them. (and the fact that apparently the Rori charm is the only one I can clearly take a picture of with my sucky camera)

Thank you! :D The pre-made ones are plain since cats come in so many patterns, and I don't really like making default markings on them... (that and I like the plain color of the clay because it reminds me of stone) But if you have a specific pattern in mind, I can definitely make it!

The only problem I see right now is that I won't be able to ship any of them until the second week of January, since I'm away from my studio for the holidays. Will that be too late for your friend's birthday?

That doesn't sound like too bad of a date, now to hope the postal service doesn't mess it up since I'll be shipping from overseas. *crossing my fingers*

Since there's time till I go back to my studio, it should be enough time for you to make sure it's ok to get one with your parents. :) What I can do is make it a custom order once it is ready through my etsy shop, which is more secure and your parents can take a look at the site too if they would like --> [link]

The site is temporarily empty other than my profile for now with a note about when I will be back in my studio, just to make sure people don't order now and find out their item can't be shipped. It will be up again with all of the items by January 12th at the latest.

There are lots of sellers on etsy that are still open for the holidays too. (Just make sure they have good ratings from other customers! :D Most of them are very nice and efficient, but like any other online shopping there can be sellers that... aren't as good.)
